TZMI’s Asia in Focus Congress once again proved successful with over 200 delegates in attendance and widely proclaiming it as the top industry event of the year.

Delegates were presented with a range of industry developments; they received importan t insights and also learnt of the current outlook of major players in the industry. Iluka’s Chief Executive David Robb, delivered a telling keynote address on the Past, Present and Future of Iluka, which set the platform for a powerful combination of speakers  - from Minsands to Coatings; both corporate and consulting; from new projects to established operations; and both Western and Eastern.

Companies featured were DuPont, Rio Tinto, Cristal Global, Exxaro, Matilda Zircon, Mineral Deposits Limited, Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Sachtleben, Zhejiang Shenghua Biok Biology Co Ltd, CMAI, Diatreme Resources, and Beroe Inc.

The feedback TZMI received following the Congress was very positive and offered interesting thoughts on improvements for 2010 and we look forward to putting some of these in place. It seems clear that Hong Kong in early November was the preferred venue and date for next year. Details will be advised in January, at the latest.
