Due Diligence
TZMI has carried out a number of due diligence studies and independent expert reports for both existing feedstock producers and potential new entrants. Some of the clients for whom we have conducted such assignments include; Ticor, Southern Mining Corporation, Southern Titanium, Westralian Sands Limited and RGC Limited. Recently, TZMI managed the due diligence process for a client interested in purchasing Nissho Iwai's Australian mineral sands assets.
Case Study
TZMI was approached by a potential new entrant to the industry to conduct a technical due diligence of a major, undeveloped mineral sands deposit. This involved a preliminary resource assessment, mineralogical and metallurgical investigations, confirmation of potential product quality and an assessment of the strategic merits of the deposit. We assembled a team of experienced sub-consultants and completed the due diligence exercise in just five weeks. As a result, our client decided to proceed with the purchase of the deposit, which has subsequently been the subject of extensive project feasibility studies, for which TZMI continues to provide significant technical advice.
For the proposed acquisition by Ticor Limited of a 40% holding in the IHM Project in South Africa, TZMI was contracted to provide an independent Technical Expert's report for Ticor Shareholders. The report addressed resource evaluation, process flowsheets, tailings disposal and technical risk assessment. TZMI also provided an independent market evaluation. The proposed acquisition was subsequently approved. TZMI undertook a similar role in preparing a Technical Expert's review of both Westralian Sands Limited and RGC Limited for the Independent Expert as part of the merger proposal.
